Our mission is to make success teachable. Rare by Design transforms how schools prepare students for life by embedding personal growth, leadership, and practical success skills into the classroom. Inspired by a legacy of compassion and education, we aim to ensure that every student—regardless of background—learns not just how to study, but how to thrive.

The Problem We’re Solving

In today’s schools, students are rich in information but poor in strategy and confidence. They leave the classroom knowledgeable, yet unequipped to manage time, navigate challenges, or turn ideas into action. Teachers see this gap but rarely have a clear, structured system to close it. Rare by Design fills that gap with a life‑skills curriculum that develops character, discipline, and purpose alongside academics.

The Deeper Why

This work is deeply personal. My grandmother, who was from a small village (Mundiapally) in Kerala, India, dedicated her life to teaching young children.  In her classroom, she showed that opportunity—not circumstance—defines potential. Her devotion to those children shaped my belief that education must go beyond lessons to liberate lives.

Rare by Design continues her legacy on a global scale—empowering the next generation to believe in themselves, master their minds, and design their own success stories.

Market Size & Opportunity

The worldwide social‑emotional learning (SEL) and life‑skills education market exceeds $3 billion annually and grows more than 20% each year. In the United States alone, over 130,000 schools are seeking programs that foster “whole‑child” development. With five schools already committed to pilot Rare by Design, our initial market entry is validated, and the expansion opportunity—from district adoption to nationwide distribution—is immense.

Rare by Design delivers a five‑stage framework called the Gemstone Path—Topaz → Sapphire → Ruby → Emerald → Diamond—guiding students from self‑management to leadership mastery.

Each tier cultivates skills in mindset, resilience, communication, entrepreneurship, and strategic planning. The curriculum blends classroom instruction with a digital platform that tracks growth and outcomes. Teachers receive training and ready‑to‑teach modules, allowing real‑world readiness to fit seamlessly into existing schedules.
