Project Description
In 2025, over 600,000 Black women lost their jobs.
I am one of them.
I’ve spent my career leading complex technology programs for major organizations—building systems that work, delivering outcomes that matter, and helping institutions move forward. And still, I found myself navigating the same reality so many Black women know too well: being overlooked, under-supported, and left to figure it out alone.
WATO.LIFE (We Are The Ones) was built in response to that reality.
This is not a job board.
It is infrastructure.
WATO.LIFE is a professional ecosystem designed to connect community to capital, skills to opportunity, and lived experience to real pathways forward. It centers Black women explicitly and unapologetically—because when we build for those most excluded, we build better systems for everyone.
Inside WATO, members can:
- Access vetted opportunities with employers who have demonstrated an equity commitment
- Use AI-supported tools for job matching, resume development, and interview preparation
- Connect with a community built for support, growth, and real movement—not just networking
The MVP is already built.
The work is already in motion.
This campaign is about taking WATO.LIFE from early-stage platform to a fully realized ecosystem that can support the women who need it now.
Your support will help fund:
- Platform expansion and stability
- AI tool refinement and integration
- Community programming, workshops, and mentorship
- Outreach to employers committed to doing this differently
This is not about creating something new for the sake of it.
This is about building what should have existed all along.
We are not waiting to be included.
